A Pair of Antique Articulated Wooden Hands. Carved from Beech wood, these hands were originally made for artists models or store glove display. The first finger and thumbs can be positioned in multiple poses, the other fingers are jointed at the knuckle, the writs have a metal banding, these hands would have been mounted on a stand for display purposes.

These hands are in very good condition with all the joints remain functional. C1900

Lay figures were used by artists and sculptors in the pursuit of the perfect form and also used for displaying clothing and gloves in well heeled department stores.
