£400.00
A Superb Extra Large Atlantic City Hotel Men’s Association Trophy. This Trophy is Silver Plated and was awarded for the Second National Atlantic City Flower and Garden Pageant 1931 (4th-10th September)
This Trophy is in good original condition, it does show some signs of age but this does not take away how impressive this trophy really is, the well fitted lid has the figure of the winged Goddess Nike, holding a wreath above her head which represents Victory.
Nike and Athena are both associated with victory, which has resulted in contestation over the origins of Nike. Nike was once a facet of the Greek goddess Athena, who was composed of Boulaia (good council), Ergane (skilled handcraft), and Nike (victory).
This very impressive Trophy would make a great addition for any collector or as very interesting conversation piece. (H:76cm without lid)
Dimensions H: 97cm W: 36cm D: 36cm
