Antique French ‘Double Gourd’ Soda syphon

£600.00

A superb and rare, early Double Gourd soda syphon. Made from hand blown glass surrounded by a protective wire mesh, the tap is made from Pewter which has the makers mark “Véritable Seltzogène D Fevre  Paris  5” and has the makers signature engraved on the neck. Circa 1890.

Widely known as a Seltzogenes or Gazogenes. The bottom sphere would have contained the water and the top housed a mixture of bicarbonate of soda and tartaric acid.
