A Rare & Beautiful Milliners Aluminium Hat Stretcher by Farrbest & Sons. Made from aluminium, this hat stretcher is very rare to find, and remains in original working order, with the turning handle which expands the stretcher and still retaining the brass makers label “Farrbest & Sons Ltd England” and a fixed brass measuring gauge. This piece has been polished to showcase the stunning original aluminium & brass. C1920

These were used by milliners for forming and stretching hats in to shape by turning the lever, and would have been electric or manually turned. This is a lovely example of Millinery history and would make a stunning decorative piece or a shop display.
