Luton being famous for their Hat industry, and Luton FC was named “The Hatters” because of the this. C1885
One of the oldest shops in Redditch, Heaphys Menswear was established in 1831 during the reign of William IV and has built its reputation on providing the best menswear service in the area. K.R.Snoxell & Sons were a very reputable hat makers in Luton who provided hats to the most affluent families of society at that time.
One of these examples were made for The Sister Princesses, Princess Beatrice of Edinburgh (1884-1966) and Princess Alexandra of Edinburgh (1878-1942). The Company would have sent this Straw Boater up to the Princesses for them to have a look at their work and see if they would like them made to order.
