New edition, revised, 3 volumes in 14 divisions, 116 steel engraved portrait plates. (A previous edition was published in 1860 in 16 divisions in the same format with 96 plates). Original leathered gilt & black decorated book covers. These volumes remain in original condition, there is minor wear, to be expected due to age, the plates are clean with only very occasional slight foxing on some of the pages, complete with all text, titles, engraved titles & all 116 plates. This set was originally given as a wedding gift dated 1900.
This set would make a lovely addition to any collector or as a display set in a home library or shop display.
