Decorative Antique Cigar and Cigarette Box in Coromandel Wood (SOLD)

Fine Quality Coromandel Wood and Brass Cigarette and Cigar Box dating to the early 1900’s.

These are often described as Humidors and well known as such but unless you put an actual “Hygrometer” inside to measure and maintain the humidity within the box it serves just for normal storage.

The words Cigarettes and Cigars are on brass plates on the lids, these open to reveal two compartments or mixing trays for tobacco. The centre section at the front of the Box below the lock has a small Brass plate with the words “Light”, which opens to reveal storage for matches, with a striking plate to light them. 

This piece would make a beautiful desk top display and could be used for other storage. C1900
