Rare Farlow Oak & Brass Gye net marked “C Farlow & Co, 191 Strand” who was Est 1885. This is a superb example of an early and rare landing net, has a metal hoop and original netting, the fittings to the head and base cuff are made of brass all supported by a long Oak pole. The markers mark “C.Farlow 191 Strand” is stamped on the side of the head. C1890
Farlows was founded in Crooked Lane, London in 1840 by brothers Charles and John King Farlow and the Farlow family was at the heart of the business for 120 years, establishing the company as the foremost innovators in the world of fishing tackle.
This superb net remains complete and in original condition, the brass has been polished to showcase the fittings on this fine piece of fishing history. A lovely piece for any collection or as a shop display piece.
