Victorian W.Insall & Sons Full Leather Trunk (SOLD)

A Superb Victorian Full English Leather Boot Trunk. Beautifully made English full leather hide trunk, with brass detailing and stud work, leather straps and carrying handles, the inside contains the original pinstripe lining, and leather pouch. Made by W. Insall & Sons, Bristol, the makers label to interior ‘Insall Maker Bristol’ 19 & 20 St Augustines Parade. There is visible wear to the interior, but this does not detract from the quality of this superb leather trunk. C1880

W.Insall & Sons was situated at 19 and 20 St Augustines Parade in Bristol, W Insall and Sons was a highly regarded company making luggage and trunks in the Victorian and Edwardian periods. Established in 1829, and with many different styles of luggage including portmanteaus, cricket bags, hunting bags and ladies handbags, W Insall and Sons became a popular shopping destination for men and women.

This trunk could add character to any home used either as storage, or as a rustic coffee table, being this versatile this can be used for any kind of storage and would not look out of place in any home, or as a fantastic shop display piece.
