Vintage Alec Tiranti Ltd Scopas Stand (SOLD)

A Superb Alec Tiranti Ltd Scopas Stand. Made from Steel, fully adjustable, this sculptors modelling stand has a collapsable tripod base, stamped with the makers mark “Alec Tiranti Ltd of London”. C1940

Alec Tiranti Ltd was first based in London 1895, when it was founded by Giovanni (John) Tiranti. In the twentieth century it was a noted art book publisher as Alec Tiranti, specialising in sculpture and furniture. Tiranti supplied sculptors with tools and equipment, and supplied materials for carving, mould-making, modelling. Although at different locations; its shop was twice destroyed by bombs in the London blitz. The business was moved to Thatcham in 2005. And still continues to this day.

A lovely stand for displaying sculptures or models, the steel has been polished to showcase the original metal, remains in original condition and fully functional. (Lowest setting H: 93cm)
