Fun and informative vintage Clay-Adams Medical teaching model of the ventricular brain system. 

Marked – Clay Adams, Parsippany, N.J. 07054 MADE IN GERMANY. SOMSO.

Label underneath – B 24: Ventricular system of the human brain natural cast of a preparation by head preparator rack of the Anatomical Institute of Wuerzburg.

Clay-Adams Company was a manufacturer and importer of laboratory, surgical, and medical supplies. The company may was run from 1916 to 1935 by Robert Louis Toplitz. In 1964 Clay-Adams became a division of Becton, Dickinson and Company, the medical technology company. Clay-Adams relocated to Parsippany, New Jersey around 1969-1970. 

This piece is entire, complete and in good condition, with signs of wear from age. A rare and spectacular piece of original hand crafted anatomical rendering. 

The ventricular system is a series of connecting hollow spaces called ventricles in the brain that are filled with cerebrospinal fluid. Cerebral ventricles provide a pathway for the circulation of cerebrospinal fluid throughout the central nervous system. This essential fluid protects the brain and spinal cord from trauma and provides nutrients for central nervous system structures. C1900s – Early 20th Century.
