Antique Silver Ireland’s Breaffy Sports Trophy

A beautiful English Silver Trophy. Made from English Silver, clearly hallmarked, London C1837 (weight 1.35kg) and the makers mark “G&B CD V.Ld” to the base.

This trophy cup was made for the “Breaffy Sports Perpetual Challenge”.  Breaffy Sports refers to the sports programs and teams associated with Breaffy GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) club in Breaffy, County Mayo, Ireland, and the sports offered at Breaffyns School. Breaffy GAA was formed in 1953 and has a history of involvement in GAA sports, including Gaelic football. Additionally, Breaffyns School provides a variety of sports like Gaelic football, soccer, and more, focusing on participation and enjoymen.

A superb Silver Trophy Cup, would make a lovely statement piece, or as a nice plant holder.
